Nearby Portoroz has been a tourist destination as far back as the 13th century, but it reached it’s »golden age« in August 1910 when majestic Hotel Palace opened its doors. It was a charming pearl of the era. In 1913 Portorož hosted almost 7,000 guests and it started to become internationally renowned.
