The Best of the Alluring Green Slovenia

Everybody knows places like Ljubljana, Bled, Postojna cave, Piran. But have you heard about the enchanting Tolmin Gorges? Visiting places like that, with all its diversities, will make Slovenia enter your heart.

Loopy Slovenia is not just about mapping the places you’ve been to in a country. It’s about connecting and getting in touch with it!

What you can expect

Gaining knowledge about a country never ends as life is an amazing mosaic of people, places and events. Our tours are adapted to lovers of Nature. In the Soča river valley Nature has created something pure and perfect and simply beyond beautiful! This river represents Nature’s perfection!

Small group approach of max. 8 persons, expert English speaking guide, carefully planned time and daily departures.

This is a great trip for those who want to see the most of North West Slovenia in one day. The pace is pleasant and easy going even with so many different panoramas to experience along the way.

In Triglav National Park nature created sights of breathtaking scenery. Before reaching the top of the Vršič pass we’ll take a break and stop at the Russian Orthodox Chapel built by the Russian prisoners of WW1 to commemorate those of them who had lost their lives in the construction of the pass road.

Vršič pass impresses us with truly magnificent views of the surrounding peaks and the Trenta and Soča Valleys. We continue our journey down a serpentine road to the Trenta Valley, a remote and tranquil place in the heart of the Julian Alps. We follow the two valleys and you’ll learn that this river has a symbolic meaning for the people of the valley – somewhere deep within the human spirit it occupies the place of an immortal memorial.

Our last stop is the town of Kobarid. Kobarid’s WW1 museum is the best place to explain the Soča river fron line, one of the toughest front lines in the WW1 history. This is the place where in WW1 the combined  Austrian and German troops successfully broke through the Italian front lines. Events partly described by Ernest Hemingway in the famous novel “A Farewell to Arms”.

A relaxing hike to the Tolmin gorges, the lowest point of Triglav National Park, just completes our day.

After a nice day and a day full of new experiences we will return back to Ljubljana. Drop off will be at same location as pickup.

  • See the most of North West Slovenia in a day
  • A day of breathtaking views
  • At Vršič pass lay on the grass and rest your soul and eyes! Stunning views of the Alps.
  • Admire the incredible clear waters and the greatest shades of blue and green of the Emerald River - the Soča
